• Uulki furniture oil is suitable for wooden (and bamboo) surfaces and wood that has been finished before with oil or wax before. As a general rule, the wood pores must be open so they can absorb the furniture oil.
• Do you want to use Uulki finishing oil on varnished or lacquered wooden surfaces? This means that the wood pores are not open. In that case you should first remove the varnish or paint (and preferably sand afterwards) in order to make the wood pores open again. Now you can apply a layer of Uulki indoor furniture oil.
• Uulki natural furniture oil is not suitable for finishing outdoor wooden furniture.

How to apply Uulki furniture oil?

Always make sure that the wooden surface is dry and clean. Pour some oil on the wooden surface and massage it into the wood with a soft cloth (e.g. microfiber cloth) or paper towel. Use circular movements to massage the oil into the wood. Let the oil soak in for a few hours. Remove surplus oil, if present, with a cloth or paper towel. Is it the first time that you treat the wood with oil? Then we advise you to apply 1 or 2 extra coats on top of the base coat, depending on the condition of the wood. If you want the wooden surface to be really smooth, you can sand it with fine sandpaper between coats. If the wood is varnished or lacquered, you must first remove the old finishes to make sure that the oil can penetrate the wood pores.
