Silicone versus rubber baking spatula: what’s the difference?
How to decide whether to buy a rubber or silicone spatula? We’re happy to help you make the right choice! Silicone is a very flexible material, and as such is very flexible. Rubber baking spatulas also bend well, but they are a bit firmer than silicone. If you often want to scrape harder or large dough masses from a bowl, we advise you to choose rubber. But fair? It’s very personal! Some baking enthusiasts prefer silicone, other baking chefs swear by rubber baking spatulas. So the choice is yours!
Baking done? Simply rinse under warm running water
You can easily clean kitchen utensils from silicone and wood under warm running water. Use a sponge or cloth to remove dough scraps from the spatula. Let air dry.
You can maintain the wooden handle of the silicone spatula with Uulki wood oil
Does the wooden handle of the silicone spatula start to look somewhat dull and dry? This means that the wood requires wood food. You can then treat the wooden handle with Uulki wood oil for cutting boards, kitchen utensils, counter tops, chopping blocks, etc. made of wood or bamboo (100 ml trial sample). Uulki wood oil is also available in our standard volume of 250 ml.
