The Uulki colouring pencils with bark bring more colour to life!
With the Uulki colouring pencils with bark you can draw whatever you like! Thanks to the wide range of colours everything on the paper comes to life. These unique pencils are made from tree branches still surrounded by bark. Because of this they look very rustic and bring a natural touch to your interior. Each coloured pencil measures about 13 cm and has a bigger diameter than traditional colouring pencils, which makes the jumbo pencils also suitable to use for tiny hands. This way your smallest Picasso’s can also draw beautiful drawings or colour in colouring books. This set of coloured pencils is therefore suitable for both adult and small artists!
Uulki colouring pencils with tree bark: nice colours with a lot of pigment
The jumbo coloured pencils from Uulki are available in different sets, with each different colours. There’s a set of 3 coulouring pencils (green, light blue & orange), a set of 4 (red, green, purple & light blue), a set of 5 (dark blue, yellow, red, green & white) and a set of 9 jumbo coloured pencils (red, green, purple, magenta, light blue, orange, brown, yellow & dark blue), so there’s a set for everyone. All coloured pencils contain lots of pigment and look good on all sorts of paper. These colouring pencils with bark are perfect for drawing lines or colouring in areas. By putting more or less pressure on the coloured pencil, you can obtain different colour shades. With this technique you have at least twice as many colors and you experience even more colouring fun!
Sharpening your handmade coloured pencils
Because these pencils are made by hand from real tree branches, they may be harder to sharpen or even impossible to sharpen with a traditional pencil sharpener. The reason for this is that the bark around the pencils is very sturdy and because the tree branches are not perfectly straight. To sharpen your stub colouring pencils, you can cut them with a Stanley knife or pocket knife. Place the knife against the colored pencil and cut diagonally downwards. Repeat this, while you keep rotating the jumbo coloured pencil, until you have a sharp point again. Another way to sharpen the wooden colouring pencil with bark is by sanding it. You can do this with a sanding machine, a sanding board or some sanding paper. However, never let children sharpen the wooden coloured pencils themselves, because they could harm themselves!
Environmentally friendly wooden colouring pencils from Europe
At Uulki we put nature first. That’s why all our wooden kitchen utensils and homeware are produced in Europe from wood originated from local and sustainably managed forests. In a sustainably managed forest, the forest manager selects the trees that can be harvested carefully. He or she ensures that the cutting of the tree has no further consequences for the biodiversity in that forest. Like that nature can just keep continuing going its way! On top of that, new trees are planted regularly so that our future generations will also have access to plenty of wood. We also work together with small family businesses, from which we know that the working conditions are optimal. So you can be sure that these wooden colouring pencils with bark are a fair purchase, both towards nature and towards mankind!
