Uulki traditional wooden rolling pin with handles rolls smoothly
This traditional wooden pin by Uulki (43 cm long) is the bigger companion of the 40 cm long Uulki rolling pin. Thanks to its weight (600 gram), this rolling pin almost rolls by itself, so you don’t need to put a lot of pressure. The weight of each separate rolling pin can slightly differ depending on the tree from wich the wood comes, the used branch or stem, the composition of the wood at the moment it was harvested (e.g. moist content), etc. Are you looking for a slightly smaller, lighter rolling pin or do you seldomly work with heavy dough? In that case, our smaller model (40 cm) may be a great option too.

Wooden rolling pins are hygienic
Wood has antibacterial properties, and as a result is safe to use with food (food contact safe). As with any other material, it’s important to take care of your rolling pin properly by thoroughly cleaning it after use, in orde to keep it hygienic.
Use natural wood care from Uulki to protect the wood
Uulki wooden rolling pins are very sturdy and durable. However, wood is a natural material that reacts to moist and changes in temperature. Therefore it’s not a bad idea to treat your wooden rolling pin now and then with Uulki wood oil for kitchen utensils and chopping boards. This will keep the wood in perfect condition. Uulki natural wood oil saturates the wood pores and protects the wood from the inside. The wood oil is 100% natural, plant-based / vegan and contains no mineral oil or petroleum byproducts. This wood oil does not go rancid, as opposed to the majority of similar plant-based oils.
Clean your wooden rolling pin under warm running water
Are you hesitant when it comes to cleaning your wooden rolling pin? There’s no reason for that, because once you know how to clean it best, it’s a piece of cake! Clean the Uulki wooden rolling pin under warm running water. If necessary, use a mild dishwashing liquid, preferably odourless to avoid the wood from absorbing smells. Let air-dry. Wood is a natural product; cracks may occur under extreme conditions. Because of this, never leave the rolling pin in the water for a long time and dont’t place in the dishwasher.
