Uulki plant-based / vegan wood wax is the alternative for beeswax
Beeswax has been dominating the market when it comes to waxes for the treatment of wooden cutting boards and other wooden items. However, the massive production of beeswax is putting great stress on the environment. The reason for this is that ever more beehives are being installed. This leads to ever more honeybees competing for food with wild bees and bumblebees. This is a real challenge in our current environment where green areas and flowers are becoming rare. Meanwhile, in the process of harvesting beeswax, many bees are being killed. If they’re not being killed, they’re deprived of their own winter food supplies for which they have been working really hard. Instead they need to settle with a sugar solution provided by their beekeeper. Therefore beeswax is far from ecological nor animal-friendly. Uulki wood wax is kind to the bees and our environment, since it does not contain animal derived ingredients, but is 100% plant-based / vegan instead.
